Mr. Raymond T. Moore was born in Brownwood, Texas and died in August 1997. He attended Howard Payne College. From 1947-1958 Mr. Moore served as Vice President and Chief Engineer of National Electronics Laboratory Inc. His responsibilities included the design, development, and production of communications, control, and instrumentation equipment. From 1958-1962, Mr. Moore was employed by the Thiokol Chemical Corporation and served General Manager of the National Electronics Division. His major activities were in the areas of communication equipment and missile electronics. Mr. Moore came to NBS in 1962 where he was responsible for applying computer and information technology to the automation of experimental laboratory procedures, and developing electronic techniques and devices to improve the control of experiments. Mr. Moore was a Registered Professional Engineer and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
